Al Rowaishan group and Yemen Commercial Bank have achieved a pioneer accomplishment in the banking and financial sector in Yemen by establishing Yemen payments and cards co. SabaCard  in the 2nd quarter of 2005 , SabaCard owns and manages the first perfect integral center for issuing and acquiring local and international cards (Visa & MasterCard), providing networking capabilities for ATMs and POSs, and offering compatible solution for national switch to local banks, in addition to utility bills payment and e-refill for mobile subscribers "e-voucher" .

His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed Bin Yehya Al Rowaishan the chairman of both Yemen Commercial bank and SabaCard confirms that "SabaCard" is the first of its type in Yemen and it was the result of a clear vision and very well defined goals. The capital investment of SabaCard was structured to leverage the readiness of SabaCard as the main processing center and provider for local Banks in terms of card product payments services and to meet the direction and willingness of Central Bank of Yemen to support a central switch in Yemen that has the infrastructure to provide local banks with national switching services.

  SabaCard is equipped to provide local, national & international switching services for local banks.

Mr. Hani Idris the executive consultant of retail & marketing at YCB and the CEO & GM of SabaCard declared that SabaCard adopts the latest  advanced technology in terms of software, hardware and telecommunications.

 SabaCard relies on a professional team of experts to run its day-to-day operation.

Mr. Idris added that SabaCard represents the most convenient solution for the banking sectors it will help local Banks to minimize its capital investment and reduce time and effort in this regard.

Mr. Idris also clarified that both YCB and SabaCard had accomplished a unique achievements in the Payments & Card business in Yemen market.
